She was born of sunlight and sand, the first born and beloved princess to Doran Martell, the Prince of Dorne. Raised at the Water Gardens amongst a sea of cousins and friends, Arianne longed for nothing but the exceptional beauty and passionate love affairs she's dreamed about since girlhood. That was until she discovered a certain letter written by her father -- declaring her youngest brother, Quentyn, his heir despite tradition...Heartbroken and betrayed, Arianne dives into the role of the rebellious daughter -- partaking in any small act to spite her father. Unbeknownst to Arianne, however, Doran had far greater plans for his only daughter, wishing for his younger song Quentyn to rule Dorne as Arianne ruled the seven kingdoms... A secret betrothal to the Beggar Prince, Viserys Targaryen. Such plans were kept a secret from Arianne as her father feared her too stubborn to maintain the secrecy which followed his strategy. Instead, he presents his princess with several suitors, all elderly lords -- and all angrily refused by the princess, who receives his matches as an insult. Along with the "reward" of a foolish title "Master of Feasts and Frolics", Arianne comes to the conclusion that her father hates her, and if that is to be so, she will hate him tenfold...Now in Sunspear, Arianne begins to conspire her own plan to ensure her birthright and to overthrow her father’s place... A war. Ignited with a Dornish Flame by claiming the Princess Myrcella as the rightful heir to the Seven Kingdoms by Dornish Law. With the help of trusted friends, including the Sand Snakes, Arianne expects Dorne to rise to her call and successfully place her as the rightful ruler to Dorne...Yet someone breaks her trust. Something she did not expect, despite all her cunning and planning. She is caught and imprisoned for the act of conspiracy -- locked in a tower, isolated, and refused the comforts of human interaction; however, punishment only lasts a few weeks as the ever stubborn princess refuses punishment by enforcing her own. A hunger strike for her father to watch his only daughter to wither to bone and dust... A father at heart, Doran releases Arianne. And after a much needed and heated discussion, father and daughter finally find common ground, and the two now work together in a conspiracy to avenge House Martell.
